Times of Change (3)

The war's napalm ruined farm land and tramatized children.
Farmers were often caught in the middle of the fight with both side distrusting them (hurting)
We found many injured women and babes along with asorted villagers in the ditch, the only way to help them out was to put them out of their misery
Budists sacrificed themselves to be noticed by the government they hated so.

Times of Change (2)

Jack Smith's Challenges
  • Every one was young
  • Seeing the inosence on the other side
  • somewhat ignorant of what was really going on
  • Terrifying becoming combat trained
  • seeing death
  • get bombed by your own
  • The stress and truama
  • loss of friends
  • seeing wounded shot

Over time he sees from another view and realizes that war isn't every where and the world is truley a pretty nice place.

The lyrics want the "big strong men" to volunteer for US.

The generals are those in charge who are the first to walk into victory and the last to fall. They also could be very heroic soldiers

Walstreet means that more people should keep coming from walstreet and keep the supplies flowing to help all those who are already over.

Mothers should help their sons prepare for veitnam and get them all hiped up for war and their country

To have your boys come home in a box.

Whoopee! We're all gonna die.

And you know that peace can only be won.

What are we fighting for? Don't ask me, I don't give a damn.

Times of change

A dubious Crusade means a doubtful holy war.
Warren is saying that too many men were sacrificed in an unannounced war
The rest of our study of Vietnam will probably relate to why we went to veitnam and what we lost their.

The overall theme of History is that all these people are fighting and killing eachother. soon it just becomes a list of names where it did it to it for it because it helped it fight it and it killid it because it wanted it.

The thesis is that it was an unanounced war with unlimited supplies, (not good)
The Tonkin allowed the pres to defend the US and it's interests
Many men died without much result, we lost the war and lost our title too.

The forgotten War

It was in the same latittude as the US

The korean war happened to prevent the spread of communism

We might have won if not for the fact that we crossed china's borders causing a stale mate.

The communist side let women fight with men.

The US was the major armed force in korea from the UN

The war lasted three years, and only ended because there was an armistice

North korea invaded the sourthern korean to unite them under one flag

Korea wanted to be united but the government couldn't be decided

Eventually the public began to question the war

American forces obliterated the palace to force the northerners out

Times of Change (MEmorial day)

The veterans and GI's have so much stress already so it is truly unfair for us to add more based on isolated insodences. Some of those incidences had to happen and the others were probably not caused directly by the Veteran that you might be giving a hard time. They deserve respect if not the parades with golden trumpets.

Martin Luther King

Why does the author feel that whites owe King the greatest debt?
Whites owe king the greatest debt because he liberated them from ages of hypocrism and the white man's burden
Was King "the right man at the right time"?
Yes, they really needed him then before it was too late for change.
Would King be upset with the current use of his most often quoted line?
Why or why not? He would be upset because commercials are using it as a way of saying people are equal, but not in a race sense.

Has "MLK's" dream been realised?: Government and Voting:

Since the civil rights movement, liberties all around have been set free. All races now have the oppurtunity to be in the governmental system and at the very least vote. But being a minority has obvious draw backs. There are few african americans in the government and hardly any mexicans, even the ratio is somewhat low. Minorities are recently being incouraged to nominate their own and work harder at obtaining government jobs. If we want to truly be equal the ratio of races in the US and races in government should be lightly forced into the same range. 5050 wouldn't be fair to caucasions because their are many more caucasions than all the other races of the united states put together. For true equality in politics, we have a long cooperating, way to go.
